You will start by walking through a picturesque “campo” (square) and a winding “calle” (alleyway), soaking in the city’s unique atmosphere. This short, guided stroll will lead you to the doors of a historic “atelier,” a true sanctuary of craftsmanship. Here, the Venetian “mascareri” (mask-makers) have been creating the world’s most famous and beautiful masks for generations. You will be welcomed into this private space, where the air itself seems to hum with creativity and history.
Your Brush with Venetian Nobility
And then… it is your turn to become the artist. You will be presented with a blank, handcrafted mask, your canvas for creation. With an array of exquisite materials at your disposal – including India ink, shimmering gold leaf, classic quills, and delicate macramè – you will have the chance to create your very own mask. However, you will not be alone in this artistic endeavor. You will be personally supervised by the master artist, who will guide you through each single process, from design to the final flourish.
